Library Committee

Mission and Leadership

The Library committee advises and serves as ambassadors and advocates to ensure that Lauinger Library continues to meet the evolving needs of our student, faculty, and alumni communities. For over half a century, Joseph Mark Lauinger Memorial Library has served as Georgetown University’s flagship library, benefiting students and scholars in all disciplines. Now more than ever, social, economic, and technological influences have profoundly altered the roles of academic libraries. These changes have had a significant impact on library collections, services, spaces, and staffing. Working closely with the dean and Library Board of Advisors, the committee helps realize the vision for the future of the library, particularly related to capital projects.

Chair: Mike Heffernan
